How to measure your hat size

Please note this is a general guide as different head shapes may also affect your hat size and it can also depend on where the hat sits on your head and the style of the hat too.

If a hat is too small, it will sit too high up on your head so if you are in-between sizes, it's generally best to go up a size and add some hat padding. Some hats have a sweatband that you can place padding under to help it fit a bit tighter.

The hat is simply beautiful.

I had initially contacted the manufacturer with regards having one of their hats make to a bespoke design, nothing too difficult and could have been altered easily during production.

Although their website claims that hats can be made to order sadly they declined my request!

Having bought the hat I made contact with a local Milliner who, happy to be on board with my project, happily altered the hat accordingly.

I had wanted the hat without the chauffeurs badge attached and with red piping around the top.

The Milliner removed the badge, added the badge I supplied (a bus driver’s company cap badge) and although she couldn’t change the grey piping to red she instead over laid the original grey piping with a 4mm red cord and in so doing created the desired look of a 1970’s bus drivers cap

So thank you for the beautiful hat, now even more stunning since the Milliner altered it!
