How to measure your hat size

Please note this is a general guide as different head shapes may also affect your hat size and it can also depend on where the hat sits on your head and the style of the hat too.

If a hat is too small, it will sit too high up on your head so if you are in-between sizes, it's generally best to go up a size and add some hat padding. Some hats have a sweatband that you can place padding under to help it fit a bit tighter.

Straw Fedora Summer hat.

This hat is very stylish. A perfect fit. Too posh to wear when pottering about in the garden - me thinks. Waiting for the “ lockdown “ to ease so that I can show it off to the neighbours and friends. Very pleasant transaction , thank you.

Fantastic hat and a perfect fit

I've been searching for a well made hat which fits my (large!) head, after spending last summer squashing the only one I could find which came anywhere close down upon my head, and grabbing at it whenever the wind blew, with the end result it was a mangled mess. The one which I have just received from Cotswold is wonderful - a thing of beauty to look at, a great price and...IT FITS!!! The inner drawstring adds the finishing touch. I just hope my holiday (or some sunny weather) here comes about so I can wear it. Many thanks for the excellent fast delivery too - one very happy customer.
